Coordinating and managing the response to major health incidents (such as pandemic flu) can be improved by the use of the GIS Mapping, Asset Management and Communications functionality built into the Command Support System. The Training and Exercising System, combined with scenario packs for health emergencies such as pandemic flu, has been used for running major exercises by organisations such as the UK South Central Strategic Health Authority.
Command Support System provides ambulance services with full interoperability at incidents with police, fire and other emergency responding organisations. The Training and Exercising System has been used to run emergency response exercises for the Scottish Ambulance Service.
